P2 nails the first sailing sea trial in the Gulf of La Spezia.

A splendid afternoon.

“Live long, sail hard…”

We slipped our lines for the first time today and spent 6 hrs doing engine and generator trials in the Gulf of La Spezia.  P2 felt great on the water.  “Slippery” and “stiff” are the words that come to mind.

I hope you all had a superb Fourth.  Here in Lerici where I am living it was the festival for their patron saint, Saint Teresmo, and so to my very pleasant surprise we were treated to an awesome fireworks display above the 14^th century Castello di Lerici on the evening of July 5. At sunset, a thousand floating candles were set alight on the sea, and then the church bells rang, and then pyro-technics began.

On July 6, we re-launched….

P2 hits the water for a second time, this time, for keeps!
